 Coach Joan McMahon is President of “Career Solutions – Unleashing the Excellence Within!”, a career services firm specializing in helping professionals discover and create authentic and satisfying career paths for themselves. After spending 15 years in the Human Resources field, Coach Joan discovered her true passion: helping people find fulfillment in all aspects of life, especially their careers. Professional Background Coach Joan received her formal education at DePaul University in Chicago where she earned a B.A. in the Liberal Arts Honor’s Program. Her professional coach training was earned from The Coaches Training Institute, a professional coach training program. She is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) with 15 years in the Human Resources field with experience in staffing, training, team leadership, and employee relations. A certified behavioral interviewer and expert resume reviewer / writer, Joan has hired 1,400 people at all levels, including executives. She is a former Career Development teacher and Corporate Trainer. Coach Joan is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (tm) personality assessment, Strong Interest Inventory (tm) and the Kerwin Values Survey (tm). She has worked for large and medium sized high tech and healthcare firms in Denver and Chicago. An effective and dynamic coach, speaker, facilitator and trainer – audiences respond to Coach Joan’s warmth, authenticity and humor – and leave with an action plan! Coach Joan is a certified facilitator / licensee for the Get Hired NOW Program ™, the Get Clients NOW! Program ™ and the Career Clarity Program ™.
Coach Joan is a member in good standing with many national and local organizations including: the International Coach Federation, Toastmasters International, the Career Masters Institute, the Society for Human Resources Management, and the Association for Psychological Type. Locally, she is a member of the Colorado Human Resources Association, the Colorado Career Development Association, and the Denver Chamber of Commerce.
